Hey there! I’m Christabel, a third culture
kid woman born and raised in the Middle East. I moved to sunny California for college (Animal Sciences Pre-Veterinary, in case you were wondering) and loved every second of it. A job in animal welfare made me relocate to Washington, D.C. where I spent almost two years working to better the lives of farm & companion animals.
It was during a night out on U Street in D.C. that I met one of my best friends, Shaine. After discovering our desire to travel, eat, and experience the world, we founded our travel blog, Two Nomads One World.
Guy Kawasaki put it best when he said:
Ideas are easy. Implementation is hard.
Two Nomads One World was a great learning experience for me, it taught me a lot, the two most important things being:
- Blogging is hard work!
- Not every idea pans out, and that’s ok as long as you try. Failure is a part of life.
I took a couple of months off, to refocus, and now, in 2017, I’m back at it again with Where’s Bel, a website focused on my life & travels as I explore being a female digital nomad.
Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. –Steve Jobs
Apart from writing on this site, I’m also a:
- freelance writer focusing on travel & food. I was officially published in a travel book last year – you can buy it on Amazon!
- social media manager for a couple small businesses
- freelance graphic designer. You can view my portfolio at http://www.christabel.co
When I’m not traveling the world, you’ll find me in Mysore, India, practicing yoga. One of my goals for 2017 is to get my 200 hours yoga teacher training certification.
