Hi! I'm Christabel

I’m a third-culture woman from Dubai who just so happens to be a freelance writer — travel, food & wellness are my specialties — and Hatha yoga teacher with an insatiable desire to explore the world we live in.

I moved to sunny California for college (Animal Sciences Pre-Veterinary, in case you were wondering) and loved every second of it. A job in animal welfare made me relocate to Washington, D.C. where I spent almost two years working to better the lives of farm & companion animals.

I have been blogging since 2007, but resumed travel blogging with Where’s Bel, a website focused on my travels as I explore being a woman of color traveling the world.

Where's Bel

One of the reasons why I write about travel on Where’s Bel is to be able to reach women of color,  just like myself, that even though you don’t have a first-world passport, and cannot just get on a plane and go, that it is still possible to travel wherever you want.

Here you’ll find experiential travel and food guides, along with musings on traveling the world as a woman of color.
