Friday Five 02/05/16

Ok, so I’ve been obsessed with Season 2 of Serial, which is a podcast from the creators of This American Life, and hosted by Sarah Koenig. Season 2 discusses Bowe Bergdahl, the US soldier that walked off base in Afghanistan only to be captured by the Taliban and kept hostage for five years.

I remember when Season 1 first aired – everyone was raving about it. After catching up on yesterday’s episode, I accidentally listened to an update from Adnan Syed’s on-going hearing. Long story short, it has me intrigued, and I have started listening to Season 1. So, that’s what my weekend looks like!

On to this week’s Friday Five.

I love reading Medium, there are so many great posts on the site, it’s sometimes difficult to pick just one. But, this is helpful and something I’ve saved for future reference. My friend and I have an idea that we’re working on, which I’m super stoked about! Can’t wait to get it off the ground once all the background research has been done.

8 Dreamy Hotel Beds You Won’t Want To Get Out Of

There’s nothing better than a plush, luxurious bed on vacation. I’ve never enjoyed roughing it on vacation, and as a I get older, I find myself getting pickier. The suite at Dharadhevi in Chiang Mai is calling out to me…

Whatever – I’ll Just Date Myself

Elephant Journal is a great website for anyone seeking to become more mindful in their daily lives, and covers everything from wellness, eco-friendly fashion, the contemplative arts, bicycling to yoga, and sustainability. I follow them on Facebook, and while I appreciate a lot of their articles, this one stood out to me. I related to it on a personal level, and honestly wish I could send it to everyone that asks me why I’m still single or worse yet, when I’m getting married.

Locals are an Untapped Market for Tours and Activities Companies

This is all too true. I would only go and explore the city I was currently living in when a friend came to visit, only to discover there was so much hidden in my backyard! Now, I’m more aware of things to do, places to see, and most importantly, where to eat!

Look who’s featured! I love collaborating with other travelers, sharing my travel knowledge, and most importantly learning from them! The world is so large, and it’s very idealistic for me to think I’ll be able to visit it all…but I can certainly try! Thanks to do this post, I’ve definitely added more to my travel bucket list.
 Happy Friday!
