Friday Five 01/08/16

Friday Five 01/08/16
Technically not the first Friday of 2016, but it is the first Friday Five that I’m writing this year. Looking back, 2015 was definitely a year of finding myself, and finding what it is I want to do in life. I obviously don’t have it all figured out, but knowing solving some of the pieces of my puzzle is a step in the right direction! I’m excited for what the year holds in terms of blogging, travel, and life in general.

On to this month’s first Friday Five.

The Zen of Ice Cold Showers

After reading this the other day, I’ve started taking ice cold showers. The mind is such a powerful thing, and I’m slowly begin to understand it better…emotions, mindfulness etc.
“Now recognize the fact that you are feeling something unusual but that it’s ok. It’s just a signal from your nerves to your brain. You’re not dying. You’re not in danger. You’re simply experiencing something far outside the normal boundaries.”
If this taught me anything at all, it’s to push yourself and you’re boundaries. That’s what I’m going to be reminding myself to do this 2016, every time I take an ice cold shower 🙂

Don’t Settle: 8 Things Traveling Does That A Boyfriend Never Could

If you want to read anything from this list, read this. Traveling has always been a passion of mine (thanks, mum), and even more so now that I’m single. I’ve traveled in a relationship (both solo & with my significant other), and traveled single – and, I much prefer traveling single. It’s very freeing, and I’m discovering so much about myself along the way…why would I want to stop?!

Photo Journal | Chasing Fairytales in Cesky Krumlov

Shameless plug, but it’s one of my favorite posts of 2015! I fell in love with Cesky Krumlov, this bohemian fairytale town in southern Czech Republic, and love looking at the pictures. What made it even more special is the unique people we met while we were there. Ah, memories!
